Strengthening Our Food System.

The Central Arkansas Sphinx Foundation (CASF), in partnership with To Improve Mississippi Economics, Inc. (T.I.M.E.) and supported by the USDA Farm Service Agency, is proud to launch its first Micro-Grant Opportunity under the Pathway to Food Security & Equity Initiative.

These grants are designed to support community gardens, backyard growers, and small-scale food production efforts right here in Pulaski County, Arkansas.

About the Micro-Grant

CASF’s Micro-Grant program provides $4,000–$8,000 in funding to help expand and enhance community and backyard agriculture projects. Whether you’re a grower, a church with a garden ministry, a school with a student-led food initiative, or a nonprofit tackling food insecurity — this opportunity is for you.
 

Funding Priorities:

  • Expanding existing food-growing operations

  • Launching new backyard or community gardens

  • Purchasing tools, soil, seeds, compost, or raised beds

  • Enhancing capacity to distribute or store harvested food

  • Engaging youth or underserved communities in food access


Applicants must be located in Pulaski County and may apply as individuals, churches, schools, nonprofits, or small-scale farmers.

  • Application Deadline: July 22, 2025 @ 5:00 PM

  • Informational Workshop:
    📍 Philander Smith University, Elders Auditorium in the Nugent Center
    📅 Tuesday, July 8, 2025
    🕠 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
